B.SC FORENSIC SCIENCE

The Department of Forensic Science was established in the year 2019 – 2020. The Forensic Science Department offers a comprehensive curriculum designed to prepare students for careers in forensic analysis, crime scene investigation and legal consultation. Our department offers a three years B.Sc., degree course. We are proud to have a dedicated forensic lab on campus, equipped with the latest technology to provide students with practical training in areas such as Fingerprint, Forensic Anthropology, Forensic Ballistics, Forensic Toxicology, Questioned documents etc. Our faculty comprises experienced professionals and researchers dedicated to providing hands on learning experiences.

Students Acheivement:

Ms. S. Angel has secured first place with CGPA 9.2 in overall academic performance for the year 2019-2022.

Ms. Aarthi S, Mr. Jayapriyan J, Mr. Abhishek T and Mr. Dhileep Kumar G has been participated and won first prize in mime competition of Inter college Meet – Mindful Mystery Meet 2k23 held on 15th March 2023.

Mr. S.K Lena Ponnarasu and Mr. Senbagakumar S was participated in the workshop on “Investigative Techniques” on 29th September, 2023 organised by AVS College of Arts & Science in collaboration with Forensic.India.

Ms. Aathithya Kiruthika N has secured 2nd prize in the debate competition held at NAAS College on 9th January 2024.

Ms. Aathithya Kiruthika N has participated in speech competition which is conducted by Nadar Saraswati Educational Institution, Theni on the event of “Kalvi Thiruvila”.

The mission of the Forensic Science Department is to provide a rigorous and innovative educational experience that equips students with the scientific knowledge and practical skills necessary for successful careers in forensic science. We are committed to fostering critical thinking, ethical practices, and collaboration in research, ultimately contributing to the advancement of forensic science and the pursuit of justice.

Our vision is to be a leading center for forensic science education, fostering innovation and excellence in Forensic practices. We aim to empower students with the knowledge and skills needed to address contemporary challenges in criminal justice and public safety, while promoting ethical standards and scientific integrity.

Department Activities :

2019-2022 batch Forensic Science students visited Regional Forensic Laboratory, Rohini at Madurai on 14th February 2020.

An educational visit to the Ottakadai police station and Superintendent of police office at Madurai was arranged on 10th February 2020 with 23 students and 1 staff member from forensic science department.

Our department conducted a guest lecture on 5th September 2022 about “Introduction to Forensic Science” by Prof. T. Nataraja Moorthy, Management and Science University, Malaysia. management.

Department of Forensic Science conducted a farewell party named as “ Peace, Love and Party” for batch 2020 – 2023 on May 22.

Our students visited Keezhadi Archaeological excavation site.
