The Department of Costume Design and Fashion was established in the year 2018 with the purpose of providing education in the field of Fashion and Textiles. This course has been designed to focus on Textile fiber, Yarn, Fabric, Quality control and Testing, with knowledge on wet processing of textiles including dyeing and printing. And also focus on Historic Costumes, Embriodery, Sewing Techniques, Technical textiles. Clothing care, CAD in garment industry, Retailing, Marketing, Garment Costing, Merchandising, Entrepreneurship development. Eco friendly textile production, are given spotlight syllabus. It also offered an opportunity to the students where fame & fortune came soaring on the wings of imagination, innovation and enterprise. The scope of our development is to make our students to face the challenges in Apparel Industry. Many of our students employed as Fashion Designers, Merchandisers, Makeup Artists, Professional Photographers, and Entrepreneurs.
The VISION is to nourish and enrich the students with the knowledge of Costume Design and Fashion and to mould the students to face challenges in the competitive designing world.

CDFT Department students get excellent opportunities to participate and represent in fashion shows, Designer Contest etc. CDFT Department regularly organises workshops and seminars. The department has pride with University ranks.
Students are required to do minimum 15 days internship in a garment export unit or Processing unit and also in famous beauty parlours. The department encourages and supports the students to participate in the designer contests and fashion shows and also cultural events. The department regularly organises special seminars / workshops and industrial visits.
